Africare helps Africa. A leader in African assistance, Africare is the oldest and largest African-American led development organization working exclusively in Africa. In fact, Africare has more projects in Africa than any other U.S. based charity. Africare has programs in the following broad areas: health and HIV/AIDS, food security and agriculture, water and sanitation, emergency and humanitarian assistance, women’s empowerment, environmental management, literacy and vocational training, micro-enterprise development, governance and civil society development.
