Spotlight: Kids for Africare!

Hot Chocolate Fundraiser

Three New York middle-schoolers sold hot chocolate on a cold January day to raise $220 for Africare.

Africare's youngest donors are making their mark... in a very BIG way! Every month, Africare will feature the fundraising efforts of children and youth around the world who are making a difference in the lives of families in Africa. Here are just a few of their amazing stoires.

* Two individual Alexandria (VA) Country Day students turned lemons into lemonade to raise $350 “the old fashioned way” by selling lemonade and chocolate chip cookies for the African Well Fund/Africare.

* The fourth and fifth graders of the Clarksville (NY) Elementary School are collecting pennies and have already raised over $600 for Africare.

* Libertyville High School outside of Chicago held a special “Band Jam Night” in April as part of their commitment to “help others help themselves.” The event raised over $4,000 to support families in Africa.

Every penny helps! Thank you, Kids for Africare!

And stay tuned for a new "Kids for Africare" page... coming Summer 2008!
