Success in Senegal
Africare/Senegal excels in developing small and medium enterprises by providing business plan development training and access to credit, and in developing community-based supervision and mentoring care groups for pregnant women. A shining achievement of Africare’s operations in Senegal is its success in organizing community information days, which are day long health fairs where communities learn about disease recognition, prevention and treatment. The Association of Francophone Public Health Universities awarded Africare/Senegal’s Project Coordinator a 3rd Place Prize in July 2012 for the community information day tool.
